When an important event happened it was demarked by the gathering of the people to celebrate, thus strengthen community ties enriching the unique fabric which distinguished one community from another.     community building is the heart of our work. Whether in schools or large corporations people need to feel they belong. Using music, dance, singing & ritual. Rhythm Konnections brings communities together in a joint joyful effort. We can lead workshops in drumming, percussion, dancing and ritual that lead up to a community based performance or vibrant parade as part of any communities’ annual festivals or gatherings where the members of the community become the musicians and entertainers. This is a lot of fun for the participants and emphasizes the importance of everyone’s contributions to create something extraordinary for their community.   music is a powerful tool for social cohesion and the beauty of drum music is every one can participate from the young to the elderly and from the experienced to the novice. Granting equal satisfaction whether they are playing the biggest drum or keeping time on wooden clap sticks the emphasis is on everyone’s part being equally as important thus restoring social and cosmic harmony as one experiences being an integral part of the whole.     Rhythm Konnections has been involved in community based programs since its inception 14 years ago and have led many a colourful parade including New Years Eve in Byron Bay, the Mullumbimby Chincogan Festival,  Alice Springs Festival,  Garma festival and many other successful community events such as The International Women’s Festival, Big Feet Little Feet Dance Extravaganza.
